THIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
QBHPs are a means for achieving patient wellness and autonomy through advocacy, communication, education, identification of service resources and service facilitation. QBHPs work under the direct supervision of the assigned Mental Health Professional (MHP) and in coordination with the QBHP Director and/or Supervisor to ensure that patients have access to appropriate services and resources and that these services and client care plans are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works under the direct supervision of assigned MHP and in coordination with the QBHP Director and/or Supervisor to provide appropriate services, resources and follow the client care plan as directed. All QBHP services are controlled by client care plans and provided under the direct supervision of an MHP.
- MHP will provide direct supervision of the QBHP. MHP will delegate and oversee work assignments of QBHP. MHP will observe and evaluate performance of QBHP in accordance to OBHS, Passe, and LSCI regulations.
- Coordination of services both within and outside LSCI (i.e. counseling, medication management, welfare, vocational services)
- Must achieve at least 60% Level of Care on Individual and Collateral visits
- Establishment of contacts within community resources
- Provision of referral to additional treatment services
- Monitor, evaluate and record client progress with respect to treatment goals
- Assist in treatment plan reviews as part of treatment team
- Follow MTP (Master Treatment Plan) as specified.
- Participate in clinical staffing and present any pertinent information regarding client care and progress or blockages toward treatment goals
- Patient education
- Must conduct home visits at least once per month with client and guardian or as the Master Treatment Plan specifies; required visits in the office, schools, and other facilities as necessary.
- Assist with problem solving
- Assists clients with linkage to needed services
- Attend training as required by agency and licensure, if applicable
- Keep all required documentation current and submit on a daily basis
- Provide transportation as need for clients
- Follows appropriate chain of command
- Participates in monthly observations and weekly supervision with MHP Supervisor as assigned.
- Assists with scheduling of all psychiatric and PCP appointments to maintain compliance with OBHS, the Passe and LSCI standards.
- Responsible for submitting completed documentation/training as directed by Human Resources
- Follows Cultural Competency policy of LSCI

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to travel independently for required home visits, school and office visits, or other facilities as necessary for Home and Community client care.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred; one or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in related mental health field, license from the Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board or license from the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. Must complete paraprofessional 40-hour training course, examination/skills test and annual re-certification. Must maintain current CPR/First Aid, MAB, CPI or other trainings as required by policy or law.
Must also have valid driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance.
